Your First Visit

What Happens When You Arrive

A clear walk-through of the first session, from the moment you pull in to how the work ends and what comes next.

Your First Session

What to Expect During Your First Equine Therapy Session

You will never be pressured to ride, or to interact with a horse before you are ready.

  1. Arrive at the Lakeside property

Park, take a breath, and get oriented. Nothing starts until you are ready.

  2. Meet privately with Amanda

A quiet, private conversation before any horse is involved.

  3. Talk through goals and comfort level

What you want to work on, what you are unsure about, and any relevant safety information.

  4. Learn basic barn and horse safety

Clear, simple expectations so you know what to do and what to watch for.

  5. Meet a horse at a manageable pace

From outside the fence, from the gate, or closer. You choose the distance.

  6. Take part in an appropriate activity

Observing, approaching, grooming, or leading, depending on what fits the session.

  7. Reflect on what you noticed

Emotionally, physically, and relationally, with Amanda helping you connect it to your patterns.

  8. Discuss next steps

What would be useful to work on, and how often, if you decide to continue.
